Assignment 3- Postcards: The Theme

The Theme

The wasp is traveling to the United Kingdom, and during it's trip it wants to visit some famous landmarks in the country. The wasp also wants to take pictures of the landmarks so that they appear on postcards that it wants to send to it's best friend. The wasp also wants to become part of the picture, so it decides to stick onto the landmark while its digital camera is taking a timed photograph.

About this collage and the elements of 2-D Design:

1. The color black was used to create negative space.
2. The only kind of shapes used for this collage are four-sided shapes and triangles.
3. The shapes used are put together to form several triangles.
4. The colors blue, red, and yellow are used to create positive space, and the center black triangle is used to create an illusion that it is part of the negative space in the back.
5. This center black triangle creates a flaw, however, since it becomes an arrow, and the viewer is drawn to the arrow, which points towards the outside of the image. This arrow leads towards the outer part of the image, which does not lead back into the image.
