For this design I decided to visually describe the line of text by having "clouds" scroll to the right. I decided to use "brush script mt" for the text face since it is a safe text to use for HTML pages, and it reminds me of the fluffy and flowing shape of a cloud. Each line of text for this part of the page moves in a different speed in order to create an effect that is similar to clouds moving in the sky. This is supported by the sky blue-like background for the page.

I decided to make the text for a "dome of blue sky" centered and small so that the negative space surrounding the text would seem large like the blue sky in reality, since it seems to stretch out infinitely. The text stands still in order for the viewer to have a look around at the "blue sky" without much distraction.

At the bottom of the page is the text that visually represents a sea. The text is floating on a sea of slashes, and each line bounces back and forth on the page. The size of the text from top to bottom. The top contains text that is small but moves quickly. The size of the text gets larger and slower towards the bottom of the page. The size of the text in each line creates makes it seem as the sea expands toward a horizon therefore creating the illusion of space. The text containing the last line from the poem moves the slowest so that the reader has an easier time reading the text.

  1. I like the way you did your picture pointing to another picture & making a comic book style comment. How did you do all that?

My banner is actually a result from playing layer tennis. It's basically a game played by to two people using Photoshop that take turns adding new layers to a Photoshop document while still incorporating the previously used layers.
